Destruction of property

Hi, I have a 20 month old Rottweiller who has been eating my loveseat in the living room while I am away at work. She gets two long walks per day - one in the am (7 am)& one in the afternoon (4:30 pm), she has lots of toys and attention.

I am really frustrated by her behaviour and I don't know what to do.

She used to destroy my shoes if I left them out when she was really little so I thought we were past this phase.

 Does anyone have any suggestions?

It sounds to me that the dog is frustrated, too. This is a working breed, so perhaps besides a walk you can do something that stimulates the dogs' mind, as well. Basic obedience training will help tremendously or try some simple agility. You can mix some dry laundy soap and tobassco sauce with water to make a paste to put on the loveseat, but unless you discover the cause of the frustration and a way to alleviate it, I think she will just find something else to chew on.

Good luck

Thank you for replying to my post... You are right I think Moxie is frustrated.

I have signed us (Moxie & I) up for agility class in Septemeber. SHE has been to basic obediance and to boot camp.

The one thing I didn't mention was that we had two Rottie's and had to put the older one (Angel) down at Easter. I think Moxie is lonely - so I have been sending her to doggie day care every Friday to help work out some of her stress. She really seems to enjoy the socialization and interacts well with the other dogs... but what about my furniture?

Any other thoughts or suggestions???
