i have 2 dogs, but 1 is especially allergic - to foods and fleas and whatever else. This spring I have learned that k9-advantix burns her skin; comfortis while pork-based contains sterilized beef and she is allergic to it; while she tolerates frontline+ better, it doesn't work for her. I found a couple products at local health food store which contain neem, or neam. Flee, Flea [not sure who makes it] burns her skin as well and the neem shampoo doesn't appear to be working for her either [altho I admit I mixed a couple of anti-itch shampoos with the neem shampoo and then diluted it, but not much]. I'm looking for suggestions on what to try next. She is miserable, but I have a couple of different anti-itch products which I apply topically as well as 1 benedryl 2x day. Thanks so much, ***ELB.

p.s. Marcy is allergic to corn, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, etc. She can eat fish, so I feed both Solid Gold's Holistique which I highly recommend. I tried Honest Kitchen as well, but Marcy does not like it.

you may want to try halo pet's herbal flea dip.

it is just a concentrated formula of essential oils that you mix with water (instructions are included) and mist on your dog. i have a big black fuzzy dog and hate the idea of giving him chemical flea&tick stuff year round, so i alternate between frontline and the herbal option. you can also add brewers yeast to her food (sprinkle it on her food) as this is a natural flea&tick remedy as well.

as far as food is concerned, i was going to first suggest honest kitchen, but then i saw that you've already tried that.

another great product that is grain free is "nature's variety"

my dog doesnt have any allergies, persay, but its a great quality food and he loves it!

here are some links to help.
