I'm throwing a Dog Party this Sun., Jan. 27th in Austin, TX!
If you are unable to attend the entire event, feel free to come out for just the hike, just the party, or just the dinner and contest.
Here is the schedule, but please RSVP here:
http://www.yelp.com/events/austin-dog-party-hike-play-eat-and-drink---dog-trick-contest-and-free-treats-too
(IMPORTANT - if you are attending the hike please contact Tara M. on the RSVP link!)
11:30AM - Hike (tentative, please comment below so Tara M. knows what
time to begin the hike!). Hike will be about 1.5 hours long, and Tara
is leading it!
1PM-3PM "Dog Party" - we can meet in the open
area by the volleyball 'net. Feel free to bring silly hats, beverages,
food, etc. The park technically says "no alcohol", but I know a lot of
people break this rule. Your call.
3PM-? - Food & drinks @ Freddies Place. Dog friendly! Vegetarian friendly!
3:30PM - "Dog Trick" contest at Freddies Place and free doggie treats to all dogs in attendance!
This
is the 1st time I'm putting this event together, but I'd like it to be
a monthly thing. The purpose is to have an event that's open to all dog
owners/dog lovers that is both earlier in the day AND later, so it will
suit everyone's needs. The party afterwards will be a nice opportunity
for everyone to get to know one another better and plan the next party!
Ideas for stuff to bring:
- Music (battery powered only, no outlets available)
- Frisbees (for people and dogs)
- Volleyball (for people and dogs)
- Camera
- Silly Hats
- Beers/sodas
- Layered and comfy clothing
- Snacks (for people and dogs)
- If you sell stuff, like dog collars, dog clothes, leashes, etc. - bring some stuff to sell!
- Water (for people and dogs, there's a water fountain)
Bull
Creek offers fairly clean restrooms, a water fountain, water to swim
in, hiking trails, a sand volleyball court, boulders/rocks to climb on,
picnic tables, and large grassy fields. - Check out the reviews for
additional information and photographs.
