Hi everyone!  I'm new here!  I found a chocolate lab mix last week in the middle of nowhere!  He has a cracked right elbow and a deep cut on his leg.  The fur is mostly gone on that leg and looks really bad.  the vet gave him oral Amoxicillin and Antiseptic wash to be done 2 times daily.  He also had the mange and worms (poor little guy).  Due to the fact that he was treated for the mange he is itching too death!  He won't leave his leg alone.  Last night I started using double antibiotic oint and gauze to cover the wound.  This morning it looks a little better (still bad).  He is walking and playing with a limp.  I just don't want him to lose that leg.  What else should I do?  Any advice would be great!  Also, I have a house dog (Cairn Terrier)  Do you think I should keep them away from each other for a while?  So far I have not let them around each other due to the pup having had worms.
