Is " raw" dog food really the best

I have been advised that raw dog food is better for my dogs than dry or canned food.By raw I mean the frozen meat medallions. I have two doxies:one is 13 weeks and  one is four . Both healthy, What do you think?

Just think about what they would eat in the wild? Dogs are carnivors, they eat meats..... There are alot of fillers with little to no nutritional value. Ultimately, a raw diet would be best, but not everyone can, either they dont like the idea, or they cannot afford it (Im in the latter on that). I had never heard about a raw diet till a few months back when I joined another forum at http://www.dogwise.com/forums/. Its a good place to learn about the raw diet if your interested.

Because dogs have a shorter digestive tract then humans, they are less susceptible to things that would make us sick, like e coli and salmonella.....

Dogs can eat raw or frozen chicken, bones and all with no ill effect. The bones only become brittle after cooking.

Greg, I swear by it, but do your research.  I started because my 8 week old puppy wouldn't eat kibble.  Now 2 years later, she is a big healthy girl.  You need to make sure that your dogs are getting all of the supplements that may be missing in a raw diet.  Things I include - salmon oil, glucosmine, vitamin C, etc.
