I have a 4-month-old male standard parti-poodle (brown and white).  He is an unbelievably well behaved puppy.  He is calm but playful.  Gentle play - never too rough.  He sleeps in the bed with me and my husband since the day we got him and never a problem.  He's kennel-trained and stays there while we work without a peep.  Loves to go outside and play with our 1.5 years old female Black Lab.  They are the best of friends.  Bingo is sweet, smart, loving, calm and very easy going.  I can't recommend this breed highly enough.  We bought him from a very reputable breeder who sales dogs to owners all over the country.  She keeps in touch with me, guarantees her dogs for life, and even sent me this cute video showing Bingo from birth and the history of his parents, etc.  His dad (and mom I think) are champion show dogs, but Bingo will just be our pet.  Superb animal.  No shedding, no body odor!  Anybody interested, just post back or email me at tjhmarks@aol.com and I'll be happy to put you in touch with the breeder.  I checked into this extensively and have no doubt she is one of the best.
