My puppy does not let me know he has to go out.

I have an 8 month old male pomeranian.  He currenlty sleeps in a crate without any problem.  When he wakes up I take him right outside and he takes care of business.  I can ask him to go outside and he will and take care of some more business.  He can hold it in for hours if necessary since I work.  When I'm home, he doesn't let me know he has to go out.  He doesn't bark, get me, nothing but he'll urinate and deficate in the house, in several of specific spots.  How do i get him to let me know he needs to go out and how do i stop him from going in the house?

One important thing is to clean up the business in the house with an enzyme cleaner that will totally eliminate the smell-he can smell it even when we can't. I'm talking about Simple Solution, Nature's Miracle, stuff you can get at Petsmart. I would just keep taking him out on a schedule and giving him a tasty reward for pooping/peeing in the correct place; a phrase like "get busy' or the old favorite "go potty" repeated over and over also helps. I remember house training one of my shepherds, every 2 hours during a cold and nasty winter..you'll get through it! Good luck!

I have trained to pomeranian puppies, It took about 5 months to get them totally trained, I cleaned their bathroom with vinegar.  I am presently trying to train a shih-tuz puppy now.  It seems impossible.  When the puppies have an accident on the floor , I show them what they did and then take them outside immediately. When they do it outside, I praise them and give them a puppy bone .  I also having trouble with him wanting to bite .  What do you suppose i do for that?

the EASIEST answer to this problem is to start keeping the dog on leash after his 'safe' period has passed, and you fear an accident may happen.

This prevents accidents, and also helps him learn to hold his bladder for longer.

Keep him on the leash near to you and then take him out when you are ready.

Eventually you can give increasing freedom successfully.

good luck
